Third-party software in MOVON
MOVON Engine (the background program that the MOVON installer and MOVON updates place on your Mac) includes third-party software. This page lists it, names each license, and tells you where to get the source code.
FFmpeg
MOVON Engine includes the FFmpeg program, version 8.1.2, licensed under the GNU General Public License version 3 or later (GPL-3.0-or-later).
- The FFmpeg file is installed next to MOVON Engine, in
/Library/Application Support/MOVON/companion/and in~/Library/Application Support/MOVON/companion/versions/<version>/. - It is one universal file made from two static builds by martin-riedl.de: macOS arm64 build
1783011502_8.1.2and macOS x86_64 build1783018342_8.1.2, joined withlipo -createby our scriptfetch_deps.sh. - License text: GNU General Public License version 3 (also at https://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-3.0.txt).

The folder rav1e-crates/ holds the 271 Rust crates of rav1e's Cargo.lock. SHA256SUMS in the source folder lists the checksum of every file, and BUILD_INFO.md names the evidence for every version.
Using your own FFmpeg
You may replace FFmpeg with your own build. Replace the file named ffmpeg in ~/Library/Application Support/MOVON/companion/versions/<version>/ (the folder of the MOVON version you run) and keep it executable (chmod +x). If you downloaded the file, macOS marks it as quarantined and will not run it; clear that flag with: xattr -d com.apple.quarantine "<path to your ffmpeg file>". Then restart your Mac (or sign out and back in) so MOVON Engine starts again with your file. MOVON does not check that file again while it runs. The next MOVON update installs a new version folder with the FFmpeg that ships with MOVON; replace the file there again if you want to keep your build.
